Hope for Tomorrow assists in funding
the church community centre building project in Kampala,
Uganda. Situated in the Katwe slum area, the centre already
has an active primary school, which is still partly under
construction. Recently, a clinic and an orphanage were
added to its facilities. We partner with project leader
Paul Kinataama, pastor of Nsambya Full Gospel Church.
Pastor Kinataama received his call
to the ministry in the 1970s when he was imprisoned
and tortured for the sake of his faith in Christ by
the Idi Amin regime. Being one of the members of the
Nakasero trio, you can read more about him in the book
Uganda Holocaust by Wooding and Barnett. Today, Paul
Kinataama is Vice-Chairman of the Full Gospel Church
of Uganda and functions as overseer for some 60 churches
in Kampala.
Hope for Tomorrow supports the
child welfare and education project as conducted by
Pastor Kinataama and his church. The school has about
320 students. Many of the children have lost one or
both parents to the aids-epidemic, or they don’t have
the opportunity to go to school because of poor family
backgrounds. At the school, the children are provided
with good teaching, a meal, as well as with spiritual
counseling and support. The mission of the school is
to show them the right perspective on what God’s way
of life really looks like.
Nsambya Full Gospel Church regularly organizes evangelistic
campaigns around Uganda. Their goal is to establish
many more churches. Campaigns have been held even in restless areas in northern
Uganda. Hope for Tomorrow supports the church evangelistic campaigns and
provides poor pastors with transportation such as bicycles.
