Mikko in Nairobi
July 6, 2005
Last week was nature week
at the university. I saw a 12 foot python that
had been found lurking around a small stream on
campus laid out straight and flat on the rock
to be measured. The thickest part of the snake
must have been the size of and adult human head;
a big-headed one. The next day a herd of some
ten giraffes crossed the road as the school buses
started back toward Nairobi to end the afternoon.
The usual herd of gazelles was grazing nearby.
During the past two Sundays
at Jesus Breakthrough Assembly, Pastor Luke Mwangi
has taught on the blessings of stewardship. From
the blessings I can remember: both an earthly
and heavenly reward and blessings that continue
on to coming generations.
To avoid muggers, those
stealthy sudden huggers, I now carry only the
necessary in the bag pictured above. The web address
is to the Finnish Foreign Ministry's Development
Cooperation website. The natural-white development
cooperation bag looks like it might need a wash...
