Mikko in Kitui
December 12, 2005
A few bumps up and down
the road to Nairobi and I'm back in Mombasa already.
This month of December looks like it's going to
be busy doing our best to utilize and report for
some funding received by Camp David Centre from
the Kenyan National AIDS Control Council.
A friend and colleague
from Camp David got married this past weekend.
I had the honor of being invited to and attending
the ceremony in a town called Kitui, about 8 hours
northwest of Mombasa, in the region of Ukambani,
the home of the Akamba people.
As well as attending the
wedding, our group of four Finnish dignitaries
also had a chance to do some sightseeing. We visited
a rock called Nzambani which offered a breathtaking
view of the area around Kitui. Somewhere along
the way we also met some donkeys.
