Mikko in Nairobi

Daystar University, Chapel
twiit...twiit...twirrtwiitwiuuuu...
twiit...twiit...twiiit
twirrititwrrrrrt....
The birds nesting in the
chapel roof showed us all an example of how to
praise God by chirping and flying around.
Praise and worship was
followed by an important announcement. The Kenya
Wildlife Service (KWS) had issued a warning. Wildebeest
(gnu) herds that could be seen in the vicinity
of the university could have attracted other visitors
to the area. The grazing grass-eaters could be
followed by meat-eaters. A few lions and leopards
were missing from the nearby Nairobi National
Park. It would be best to stay close to areas
of human inhabitation after dark.
John 10: 10
A student of the university
had returned to share the gospel.
- Because God lives in
us, the power that we have is from God, not from
us.
- Each of us has a purpose, together we can achieve
a lot.
- I hope that everyone can feel that they are
a part of this, not only once in their life, but
constantly.
Exodus 20: 1-2
These are the often forgotten
lines preceding the Ten Commandments. The Lord
reminds us of what He has done.
- Life is not a set of
rules and regulations or do's and don'ts, but
devotion and service to God.
To conclude, the speaker
prayed that Daystar University would raise servant
leaders for Africa and the whole world.
The Daystar University
Community Development Department did not accept
my application for practicum credit based on work
experience but I had a chance to have a great
day at the university. The sun did its best to
change the color of my skin, freshly arrived from
Finland, from pale to a darker shade of red. I
picked up some stones to take home from near the
university campus.
