Mikko in Mombasa
March 31, 2005
Carrying a backpack, with
plastic bags in my hands, I was musing on the
weight of the school books and Bibles in the plastic
bags. I was on my way to work from meeting Catherine
at her office. She had filled out a part of my
application to Daystar University. (website: Daystar
University) The Christian college demands
credentials from a pastor or Christian leader
on the applicant's character etc. Bachelor of
Business Administration -degree is missing
an international academic term, which should be
completed soon before the program alters conclusively.
Poor planning! I thought
as I walked along with my bags. It doesn't seem
all that wise to drag all this stuff in the heat
of the day from one side of town to the other,
on my way to work from Camp David. Maybe someone
else could have gone to buy the books in the morning...
The dirt road had finally come to an end and I
continued the walk on blacktop toward the main
road. The first matatu passes me from behind...
full. Another matatu... also full. The third one
elegantly pulls over right in front of my nose
and picks me up.
For the past month I have
been going from place to place. There have been
evangelistic meetings in Mombasa
and Muranga.
There has been video
filming here and there. On Tuesday, I stayed
home resting and didn't answer the phone.
I've heard it said that
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
