"A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity..."

WORK ABROAD

KENYA

COOPERATION WITH KENYA COORDINATOR

During the year we will develop partnerships with HfT-coordinator Norah Obongo in Nairobi. In addition, we will partner with social worker Maureen Umbe in working with students and mothers through a support program. Hope for tomorrow will be inviting Norah Obongo to the coordinator's meeting in Finland in conjunction with the annual meeting at the end of June; this trip will coincide with Bible school principal Catherine Obwogo's preaching tour of Finland for the month of July.

MOMBASA

We will help high school graduates who were supported over the years by HfT in finding higher education. Will continue to financially support these students on a need basis as they begin their university studies. We will make sure that children, young people, and families supported by HfT will also receive spiritual teaching, prayer support and other care. As Hope for Tomorrow's support programs under Camp David come to a close, we hope to find a Church to support future HfT work in Mombasa. During the year we will ask Jesus Celebration Center about such a possibility.

MURANGA

During the year we will investigate the situation of the families involved in the farming project in Muranga funded by First Love Church. The goal is to reduce support of the families who have already received a cow, goat, or something similar by which to ensure self-reliance and further development as a family economically. Through this we hope to prevent an over-reliance on foreign aid. Until now, we have continued our support of high school students needing aid, and the plan is to continue in the same way. We will make sure that the supported families and students receive spiritual growth, and discipleship will continue to be a top priority.

KISUMU

During the year we hope to develop a preschool and primary school support program joined with a food program for students and programs for young people who have dropped out of school, all in partnership with Redeemed Gospel Church in Kisumu.

UGANDA

We will continue to support Pastor Paul Kinataama's Church and students. Paul Kinataama's visit to Finland will be scheduled for either fall 2009 or early spring 2010. Pirkanmaa school visits will be part of the visit.

MORE ON THE WORK ABROAD

This year we hope to make an HfT mission trip to Africa toward year's end, when we will be visiting Kenya and possibly Uganda. We hope to develop our plans such that we can support entire projects instead of individuals, for example a transition from a student's support to support of an entire school.

OTHER INTERNATIONAL WORK GOALS

We will continue to support the mission work of Kirsi Nyrhinen and Pia Lindt through their AIDS clinic in Mombasa. We will continue to support Star of Hope missionaries Ingeborg Setterbyn and Judith Löffsund in their prison ministry in Mombasa. We will also continue our support for Miri Morian's work among orphans in Israel.

Our prayer during the year is for the possibility of the supporting of new Hope for Tomorrow missionaries in other countries. In July we will be meeting with Mercy, and will make a decision as to whether to support their work among street children in Afghanistan through Hope for Tomorrow.

WORK AT HOME

During the year we will continue our prison ministry in Finland along with our ministry among immigrants that was begun by and continues to be led by the Holy Spirit.

During the year we will continue to organize Hope for Tomorrow events throughout Finland. Our chairperson will make speaking visits to congregational meetings according to invitations received.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will work through Hope for Tomorrow and its partners to affect salvation and discipleship in as many people as possible. We will add new cooperative efforts and will deepen partnerships that already exist.

We will continue nondenominational worship and prayer nights on Sunday afternoons at Orivesi Church parish on a monthly basis, schedule permitting.

We will continue selling faith-strengthening literature at HfT events.

Trusting in the leading of the Holy Spirit,
