Plan of Action: Term 2005 - 2006
WORK IN KENYA
1. During the year, cooperation
between Hope for Tomorrow and Camp David will
continue
to be developed.
2. Application for support
The
Finnish Foreign Ministry will be sent a development
cooperation support
application
in May 2005. A total of 90 000 euros for 2006-2008
will be
requested
for the Camp David Centre's workshops for Chaani
slum residents
and
training for Camp David's civic organization's
training. The year 2006
budget
is 20 000 euros, of which Hope for Tomorrow must
pay 3000 euros.
Let's
hope that the application is approved, so that
work can begin in January 2006.
3. As a new area, cooperation
to support the rural area in Muranga, focusing
on poor
families, especially single parents and/or orphans,
will be developed. This project
began in spring 2005. The aim is to increase the
supported number of families
in Muranga.
4. The aim is to rent housing
for the use of the Field Coordinator and volunteers.
5. The aim is to pay the
Field Coordinator a salary. The salary would be
based
on
Kenya's salaries and living standards.
6. Coordinate a Hope for
Tomorrow event in Kenya during the year.
DOMESTIC WORK
1. Increase Hope for Tomorrow's
communications in Finland. A new TV show
about
Hope for Tomorrow's work is coming out in the
fall of 2005.
2. In the fall of 2005,
a team will conduct school visits in southern
Finland. At the visits,
a short film about life in the slums in Kenya
(filmed in spring 2005) will be shown.
A teacher from Kenya will come to visit the schools.
3. During the year, different
Hope for Tomorrow events will be conducted
throughout
Finland.
4. Cooperation with similar
organizations will be increased.
